After skipping Windows 9 by doing a surprise jump to Windows 10 , Microsoft is planning to bring something more unexpected now. The company officials have recently revealed about ‘spartan‘- a lightweight web browser that will be shipped with Windows 10 later this year. So, its currently not for public download and will be only revealed along with the launch of Windows 10. This is a great thing for all IE users, who are using it from ages and can’t find other platform comfortable to them, as Spartan will be a IE 12 with high speed performance and lesser annoying messages (Hopefully). This data is leaked by ARS Technica after a Microsoft Employee told them about the whole game. The site tells us that ‘Spartan’ is the codename of what microsoft will release this year. It means that there may be another name for this guy and spartan is just a nick one. Loads of questions are raising up in the web and the leak of this news has become the most trending topic in Facebook and other social media.
IE (Internet explorer) is a series of graphical web browsers which has been included in Windows lineup since 1995. Due to high sales of Windows Os, IE got popular and became the most widely used browser in few years. But after loads of complaints regarding the browser started raising up, people started switching to firefox and chrome and finally, IE loosed its position of most popular browser, when Chrome took its place 2 years ago. But it ruled its age. In fact during 2002 and 2003, the usage share of it was used to be over 95%! The browser is a 19 years old thing now and was also introduced for MAC and UNIX but has been discontinued now. Microsoft also introduced few other versions of the browser like IE for Xbox – which is the default browser of Xbox. They’ve also included pocket internet explorer on old age’s Windows Mobile. Now, as Windows Phone Os took the place of Windows mobile, the company changed the mobile’s version’s name to the original one – Internet Explorer. The current version of the broswer is IE 12 and is available in 95 languages.
Microsoft SPARTAN Browser
SPARTAN will surely be a big change to IE lineup. It is also possible that the company kill the whole ‘IE’ name and start a SPARTAN series. If this happens, this will be a very sad end to the Microsoft’s very own 19 year old browser. The news has been claimed by huge reputable tech blogs and few other sources and does not seem to be a false one.
The whole thing was told to Ars by Microsoft analyst Mary Jo Foley, Spartan is codename for a “new, lightweight browser” that will ship with Windows 10 alongside a backwards-compatible version of Internet Explorer 11.A ‘lightweight’ browser points to the design of chrome and Firefox like browsers rather than the sluggish IE.
Microsoft SPARTAN Browser Release Date
Microsoft is going to unveil this browser soon and the dates have already been confirmed. Microsoft will tease Windows 10 on 21st Jan. According to few leaks, Microsoft will also introduce Spartan along with the Os on that event. Although, it wont be available for public downloads just after the event, but still it will give us the Whole idea of what the browser will be.
