Recently i had written a review of a working CPA program- YouTube CPA and if you’re on my friend list in Facebook, you’d know that Le Geeks ranks at the first position on Google for the keyword- YouTube CPA. Many of my friends pinged me requesting the strategy behind ranking a post without even building a single backlink! Sounds insane, but its practical and it actually works. Here’s a case study about ranking a post on Google. Lets get started with the SERP Case Study

#1. Keyword Research-

That’s the first thing i did, not only for this post but for every single thing I write. Using lots of low competitive, some moderately competitive and few highly competitive keywords. As you know, using  long tail keywords will surely work, its one of the best ways to rank your post. I normally use the Google Keyword planner to find some amazing keywords, but most of the times i go with a strategy that i recently revealed- Using Google To Find Long Tail Keywords.

#2.Internal Linking-

I linked my posts with high authority posts to the Review, actually the sponsor wanted me to rank it on the top, so i linked my posts with high Page Authority (PA) to the review so that there would be a flow of rank to this post. Here’s an amazing guide to internal linking- The Defnetive Guide To SEO Through Internal Linking. That really boosted up my rank. This technique actually works, but keep the number of links on page within a limit, below hundred.

#3. Images with ALT Tags-

That post or the review has over 5 images and i did care to fill up the ALT tags. You might know that Google indexes a image according to the ALT tags, the name and the description it has. So using a lot of Images or any kind of visual media will help you rank at the top!

#4. Use Rich Snippets-

This is the best thing i did! Using the rich snippets or the Schema makrup on your posts will surely get your post on to top! And if your posts ranks on 3rd or 4th with the snippets, people will go for your posts because posts with Rich snippets look much attractive and trust-able than the ones without it.

#5. Use Your Keyword in the H2 Titles ( More  than 2 H2 Titles) –

As you can see, i have used 7 H2 headings in that review and i have used the keyword- “YouTube CPA” in 4 H2 titles in the post. H2 titles are the ones that are crawled after the H1 titles, that means they are as important as H1 titles. Search Engines probably follow an order of crawling your posts. H1 first, H2, H3 or any other titles.. later the content and next comes the media. So you need to let the search Engine know on what topic you’ve written,so be sure to include your keywords in H2,H3 or any other titles in your posts. Here’s a detailed guide on using keywords in posts- Right Use Of Keywords (Scroll to the 1st point in the post)

Its Your Turn-

Go, start writing a new post, use all these techniques and share your results here through the comments. Feel free to post your queries through the comments , we would be glad to help you. Do share it with your friends!

Good and useful posts Hari Charan.

I do agree with your points to hold good SERP for the blog posts. Using optimized images, more H2 & H3 tags, lot of low comp with few medium & high comp. KW and liking to high authority sites really helps a blog post to rank well in search engines. I used to do the same and am getting good ranking positions for my blog posts.

Thanks for writing such a post, it would benefit many bloggers to perform well.

Dude, you need to put keywords in your post, like you need to make it look natural in the post and also include it in the title and subheadings. For example if my keyword is Android Apps, i would put it in the title as- “Top 10 Best Android Apps” similarly, you have to use it in subheadings and also in various paragraphs to rank well.

I was curious if you ever considered changing the
layout of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got
to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people
could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having
one or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?
